​The main citrus scent in Eau de Cologne and Florida water is Citrus aurantium bergamia- bergamot.  Bergamot is derived from the Italian bergamotto, from the Turkish bey armut, meaning "prince of pears".  This citrus symbolizes good luck, money, and fortune.  It was said that you should rub your money with Bergamot leaves before spending it, to ensure that it made its way back to you.

The flavors from Earl Grey tea are from the Bergamot or bitter orange plant, which is used to flavor the black tea.  Popular as an essential oil, Bergamot is also well loved in the perfume industry for its scent.  The scent is thought to stimulate the mind and energize.
