"Protea's Keep"
celebrates the power of transformation. Inspired by the Protea flower, named after Greek god Proteus and a symbol of the ability to adapt and the refusal to be stuck, the 3D piece stood at 8 ft by 16 ft. Viewers made their way around the free standing structure and observed the ebb and flow of color and detail. Whimsical depictions of the flower were interspersed with organic forms that are reminiscent of oceanic systems. |

"temple of Mush"
"Temple of Mush" was an installation made specifically for the galleries at moore (moore college of art & design) show, "conventional departures". This was a group show with other philadelphia artists working and pushing boundaries in their area of craft. focusing again on reclaiming and repurposing materials, leibrand upcycled the pillars used in "choking hazard" and created larger-than-life mushrooms for viewers to approach. other materials include felt, beads, rescued quilting batting and umbrellas. |
